Sunneva Gilmore

Dr. Sunneva Gilmore MB BCh BAO MRCOG PhD (law) is a registrar obstetrician and gynaecologist doctor and forensic medical officer based in Northern Ireland.  Her PhD thesis was on reparations for conflict-related sexual violence. This involved empirical research with victims, healthcare and transitional justice practitioners in Colombia, Peru and Uganda. She is part of the team on the Arts and Humanities Research Council ‘Reparations, Responsibility and Victimhood in Transitional Societies’ project. She was appointed as a reparation expert on rape, sexual slavery and attacks on healthcare at the International Criminal Court and currently works as a medical member for the Victims' Payment Board in Northern Ireland.
