Jason Hickel

Anthropologist

Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts

Dr. Jason Hickel is an anthropologist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts whose research focuses on global inequality, post-development, and ecological economics.  His most recent book, The Divide: A Brief Guide to Global Inequality and its Solutions, was published by Penguin Random House in 2017.   In addition to his academic work, Jason contributes regularly to The Guardian, Al Jazeera and Foreign Policy, serves on the Labour Party task force on international development, and sits on the Executive Board of Academics Stand Against Poverty (ASAP).  He is originally from Swaziland.
