Eugene Richardson

Eugene Richardson, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received his MD from Cornell University Medical College and his PhD in Anthropology from Stanford University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center.

As a critical pragmatist, Dr. Richardson conducts research on the biosocial determinants of infectious disease outbreaks in sub-Saharan Africa, with the goal of improving prevention, containment and treatment through both clinical and structural interventions.
